Pull items from your freezer, wipe down the interior, and then return food while checking expiration dates or the date of when you purchased the item.
Does the food appear to have freezer burn? Has it been in your freezer for a year? It’s probably safest to dispose of the item.
If food has gone bad, why? Do you put new purchases in front of older food? Do you forget what you buy? Do you pack your freezer, so it is too difficult to find items?
You may take a bit longer than 15-minutes on this task. I’m only referring to your refrigerator’s freezer. If you have a dedicated freezer, then schedule an evening or time over the weekend to sort through its contents.
