Sometimes we hold onto things that we neither find useful nor like. Instead, there is a sense of obligation. We hold onto something because that is what we feel we should do.
Is there something that you’ve felt obligated to hold onto, but that makes you feel saddened by the circumstances or backstory connected to the item?
This could be an article of clothing that you hold onto with the hopes of wearing it again when you’ve returned to that size. It could be a souvenir from the last vacation you took with your ex. It could be a textbook from a college class you failed and always thought you’d take again to prove something to yourself.
Even if you’ve hidden the item, the energy and thoughts associated with it are still there. The item is a token of your past. Don’t try to drag it into your future.
