Declutter the purse, backpack, or tote that you carry with you all the time. The easiest way to do this is to find a flat surface (your bed, a table, or even the floor), turn the bag upside down and dump the contents. Scoop everything from all the zippered compartments.
Sort similar items together so you can see what you have and decide what you need. Do you carry around items that you rarely or never use (a shawl, a travel umbrella, scissors)? Consider if you can lighten your load and do without the items. You may realize you don’t need these ‘just in case’ items.
