Plan to deal with an unfinished task that’s been on your personal to-do list for a while. You don't have to finish the task today, January 5, just plan when you'll carry out the next step.
First, decide if you need to and want to finish the task. Or, can you release your expectations by realizing you no longer need to do this task.
Next, if you do want to finish it, identify the next step you need to take. Finally, schedule when you do this next step. After you complete that step, identify and schedule the next step. Continue until the task is off your to-do list.
