June 20 - Use a Wish List to Slow Impulse Purchases

Do you keep wish lists of items that you’d like to own? Putting an item on a wish list is a great way to stop impulse purchases. You’ve acknowledged your interest in an item without spending any money.

I’m always adding book that I’d like to read to my Amazon wish list. I don’t buy the majority of these books, I use it as a reminder of what I’m interested in when I go to the library or look at Hoopla to borrow an eBook.

Of course, other items end up on my wish list, some for a few days, others for months. Every so often, I scroll through the list and realize that I’m no longer interested in an item or a book. Deleting these items reminds me to be glad I didn’t buy them because they would have become expensive clutter.
