Do you hold onto old jars and bottles, plastic as well as glass? If you use them for leftovers, gifts, or crafts, select a spot where you’ll collect them. When that space is full, stop collecting more bottles until you use up some of your stockpile.
I save jars for my husband who makes homemade sauces that he shares with friends. Reusing jelly and pickle jars means we don’t have to worry about someone returning Mason jars that we bought.
Also, I have a kids’ craft class coming up this summer and I’m saving jars for a couple projects. The shelves are crowded right now but I know by midsummer they’ll get emptied.
