Between now and the end of the year I’ll be offering suggestions for ways to bring order to areas of your home where clutter may persist in returning.
Today, take a fresh look at the first impression your home gives. If you wish, step out the front door and walk back into your home, unencumbered by a coat, purse, and shopping bags.
What things catch your eye? Do you find these things pleasing or stressful? What impression does your home give? What do you wish people would first see? How does the sight of your entranceway set the mood for your family?
You might not have a hall or foyer to separate your entryway from the rest of your home (at my home, you'd step right into the kitchen). This creates its own challenges because where do shoes, coats, bags, mail, etc. go?
What's working for you ... and what isn't? I'll address some specific trouble spots over the next few days before moving the conversation on to other organizing solutions.
