Carry on creating your list of small pleasures; tiny, sensory treats to give yourself whenever you need a break or a boost. Avoid thinking that you’ll remember these small acts and so you don’t have to write anything down.
When you need a pick-me-up, treating yourself nicely will be easier when you don’t have to expend the energy dredging up a mental list.
Today, list five auditory experiences that you could give yourself right away (so, nothing that requires jumping in the car and traveling to a different location). This could be listening to a favorite song. Or stepping outside and listening to the birds sing or insects hum.
Or find the sound of ocean waves (or another favorite sound) on your computer. Listen for five minutes (or three, or one minute, if that’s all you can spare).
